Responsibilities

• Maintain the building and grounds in a clean, safe, sanitized and orderly manner
• Sweep, scrub, mop, vacuum, wax and buff floors, remove refuse, clean restrooms and other common areas
• Keep all walkways and entranceways clear and safe during weather related emergencies
• Place and remove all recycling and trash receptacles
• Perform repairs and assist in apartment turnovers as needed
• Ensure building security by performing property checks and monitoring pager system
• Respond to resident emergencies
• Be available to respond to emergencies during on-call shifts
• Be available for snow removal and/or inclement weather related issues
• Address concerns and cleaning needs of the facility in a timely and professional manner
• Perform system readings on schedule and keep accurate findings
• Report any system failures and/or unsafe conditions in a timely manner
• Work with manager on preventive maintenance schedule and tasks
• Ensure that residents and families receive the highest quality of service
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, wallboard repair and/or painting; 1 -2 years experience required
• Hoisting license a plus
• Prior housekeeping experience
• Resident apartment experience a plus
• Proficient with speaking and reading the English language
• Excellent organization, customer service, interpersonal, communication and time management skills
• Must use good judgment and be respectful of residents’ privacy
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently and as a team player
• Ability to follow directions and procedural guidelines accurately and in a timely manner
• Ability to work independently, follow through on assignments, and identify potentially more effective methods of work operation
• Ability to make appropriate job decisions following standard department policies and past precedents
