    Schedule includes weekdays and every Saturday.  Occasional holidays.


    As the Activities Specialist, you will:

    • Support Director of Programs in planning, coordinating and implementing programs and events to enhance NewBridge Independent and Assisted Living communities and meet intellectual, social, spiritual and physical needs of the residents and members.
    • Perform administrative and programmatic work to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the team in meeting residents’ needs
    • Interact with residents, team members and colleagues in a positive, supportive way; build trusting relationships with them and accept responsibility for all tasks assigned.
    • Be a self-starter, have the ability to prioritize, perform multiple tasks, anticipate needs, demonstrate initiative, and be skilled in community building
    • Advance the effort to create a meaningful, innovative, and vibrant best-in-class CCRC


    More specifically, the position will involve the following:         


    Program Development


    • Research, select and plan programs for independent and assisted living communities
    • Develop relationships with new contractors using resident leads, external leads and personal contacts
    • Build relationships with current contractors to schedule future programs
    • Research, plan and support outings for independent and assisted living residents
    • Support resident led programming initiatives
    • Develop and run programs for independent and assisted living communities


    Program Operations


    • Research, select, schedule, order and support weekly movies
    • Produce a final draft of IL in-house monthly newsletter and AL monthly calendar
    • Produce a final draft of IL weekly program calendar listing all events and classes for the week and weekly movie description schedule and details
    • Contribute to producing promotional materials   
    • Promote upcoming programs and outing, and encourage residents’ participation                                               
    • Attend weekly Community Life and Programming team meetings and participate on the Vitalize 360 interdisciplinary team


    • Compassion for and desire to work with a senior population.
    • Bachelor’s degree minimum. Master degree is a plus
    • Four years of professional experience.
    • Extensive cultural exposure through art, music or science.
    • Be capable of determining contractors’ level of professionalism and skillset, and ability to meet communities’ high standards
    • Computer literacy; experience with Windows, Word, Power Point, and Excel.
    • Excellent organization and interpersonal skills.
    • Must be a professional, proactive, collaborative, conscientious and results-oriented individual.  Must have an optimistic and positive demeanor, excellent oral and written communication skills, good intuition and sound judgment.  Must be motivated to learn and flexible to change.
