Overview

This is a temporary full time position until July 2025 in our culinary department! Join our team to support our dining service and Meals on Wheels program!

Responsibilities

 

  1. Reports directly to Chef/Director and/or Sous Chef
  2. Load or unload trucks that deliver or pick up food and supplies.
  3. Receive and store supplies.
  4. Stock supplies such as food and utensils in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and salad bars.
  5. Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks.
  6. Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwashers or by hand.
  7. Clean garbage cans with water or steam.
  8. Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition.
  9. Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas.
  10. Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
  11. Sweep and scrub floors.

Required Qualifications

 

  • Able to learn basic tasks and follow instructions.
  • Well groomed and willing to follow dress requirements.
  • Able to regularly lift up to 20 pounds consistently, occasionally lift over 30 pounds, and to spend long periods of time on feet.

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • A diploma or GED isn’t required, though some high school is preferred
  • Proficient in English reading and writing skills is required
