    Great entry into Human Resources!  Due to the internal promotion of our Benefits Specialist, Hebrew SeniorLife invites applications for our full time Benefits Specialist role, working at a number of our sites including Roslindale, Canton, and Dedham. The Benefits Specialist is responsible for administering benefits programs and is the primary contact for all employees benefits questions. Primary responsibilities include administration of FMLA and non FMLA leaves of absence, and providing day to day administration  of HSL health and welfare programs.  This individual will play a key role in sucessfully on-boarding new employees and faciliating new hire orientation.     • Process enrollments for health, dental, vision, flexible spending and all other benefit programs. Determine eligibility and communicate with employees as needed.
    • Ensure accurate and timely data entry of benefit enrollment, change and termination in the HRIS system.
    • Coordinate, administer, and track FMLA and non-FMLA leaves of absence. Provide managers and Human Resources with regular updates and reports of leave and ADA status.
    • Track missed health and dental deductions for employees on leave and make payment arrangements.
    • Ensure timely processing of short-term and long-term disability claims. Review documentation and eligibility status to determine whether an employee is eligible for benefits.
    • Conduct monthly new hire benefits orientation
    • Problem solve with employees and vendors to solve benefit issues.
    • Primary contact to oversee the planning and execution of the annual Scholarship Program.
    • Assist Human Resources Coordinator with HSL ROCKS quarterly events.
    • Resolves employee questions and problems by interpreting benefit policies and procedures.
    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
    • Participate in and provide support for special projects and other responsibilities, including coordinating annual employee events, as needed.
    • Assist Benefits Manager with coordination of annual open enrollment fairs




    This position requires outstanding customer service skills and comfort working with employees at all levels of the organization.  Proficiency with MS Office, oustanding written and oral communication skills, and exceptional organizational skills are required for this role. BA/BS, business, accounting, human resources management, and/or related field preferred.  Own transportation is required, as the Benefit Specialist works out of our Dedham and Canton locations once per week.
