Overview

Perform a variety of painting, wallpapering and refinishing activities required for facility maintenance; ensure maintenance of facility aesthetics.   Collaborate with Engineering personnel to solicit expertise of required crafts necessary to complete assigned projects.  Serve as a consultant to facility personnel in recommending specific courses of action to attain desired goals.  Requisition relevant supplies and tools.  Solicit assistance of other Engineering personnel for the efficient completion of projects.

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work from written and electronic requisitions, or verbal instructions
  • Prioritize urgency of job requests with Supervisor or Director of Facilities
  • Install wallboard, base cove, wall protection and wall covering
  • Select and mix materials, matching colors and tints for spray, brush or roller painting of walls, ceilings, furnishings, frames, equipment or other items, when directed by Supervisor or Director of Facilities
  • Clean and prepare wall covering in damaged areas
  • Identify, select, maintain and use tools; safely erect staging and ladders
  • Place wet paint and other warning signs in accordance with the work area requirements
  • Know rules, regulations and procedures to safely deal with the use and disposal of paints and solvents
  • Detect and report defective material and unusual conditions to Supervisor or Director of Facilities
  • Maintain tools, equipment and work area in a safe, clean and orderly condition.
  • Follow standard and prescribed safety regulations
  • Respond to all facility emergency codes that apply to Engineering
  • Assist Engineering personnel as assigned by Supervisor
  • Must be available for snow removal as needed
  • Attend facility sponsored training
  • Maintain professional appearance at all times
  • Participate in scheduled department meetings
  • Perform any duty as assigned by Supervisor or Director of Facilities
  • Maintain cleanliness of household
  • Responds to call bells and patient requests
  • Reports any equipment found to be unsafe or broken immediately to supervisor
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of all facility and patient related information (HIPPA)
  • Subject to being called in for emergencies
  • Interior finishes – perform as needed

Required Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Education level required

High School Diploma or equivalent

 

 

  • Years of Experience

           One year of experience in painting and interior finishes

 

  • Licensure/Board Certification

           None

 

                    

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing or walking.
  • Lifting pushing, pulling supplies and equipment.
  • Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching.
  • May need to work in extreme hot and cold temperatures
