  • Overview

    The Radiologic Technician, Per Diem is responsible for the day-to-day functioning of the Radiology Department under direction of the Radiology Supervisor.


    Perform diversified duties including preparing patients, operating X-Ray equipment, and developing films.

    • *Check and maintain equipment and supplies.
    • Inform and coordinate activities with staff of other Center departments as required.
    • *Set schedules and perform related clerical work, including maintenance of X-Ray files and related records.
    • *Plan work schedule and perform duties determined by Radiologist following standard radiology practices.
    • *Prepare patient, determining the proper anatomical posture for the patient according to the area to be X-Rayed.
    • *Calculate the exposure time based upon the area, the film, and type of equipment being used, to obtain clearly defined film while giving consideration for safety practices.
    • *Exercise care while operating equipment for protection of the patient, other personnel and self, following established practices.
    • *Develop film through CR Imaging System
    • *Prepare film for reading and send it for Radiologist review via PACS.
    • Consult with Radiologist as necessary in emergencies.
    • *Prepare film to accompany patient when going to an outside hospital.
    • Maintain records and files, including film files, in an up-to-date condition following established procedures.
    • *Maintain equipment in a clean and operating condition.
    • Order supplies and/or service as required.
    • Perform other related duties as required or directed.


    • Maintain the Mission, Vision and Values of Hebrew Rehabilitation Center and Hebrew Senior Life.
    • Maintain compliance with regulatory guidelines in order to obtain the strategic objectives of the facility as well as the organization.
    • Licensed with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and Massachusetts Board certified.
    • Experience in various Radiology settings.
    • Associates Degree in Medical Radiography.
    • Minimum of 1 year experience.
    • Practice in accordance with established standards of care for safety of resident/patient, self and co-workers.
    • Exposed to patient and other elements, solutions, odors, etc., with considerable exposure to radiological hazards, but with none continuously present to the extent of being disagreeable
