Per Diem opportunity for a Sterile Processing Technician at our beautiful NewBridge on teh Charles location in Dedham.
Knowledgeable about each step of the decontamination and sterilization process (after receiving detailed training).
Familiar with instruments and equipment according to the Manufacturer’s Instructions for use (IFU).
Working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel
Collaborates well with colleagues and is a team player.
This position is responsible for cleaning, decontamination, packaging, sterilization, and storage of dental and podiatry instruments.
Follows the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center’s Policy and Procedures for decontamination and sterilization process including using the equipment such as the ultrasonic washer and the sterilizers.
Follows the quality control procedures for the ultrasonic cleaner and sterilizer per standard operating procedures and/or regulatory guidelines. Examples include testing the sterilizer using the biological and chemical indicators.
Uses exceptional organizational skills to track all soiled and sterilized instruments including preparation and receipt of instruments during transport to and from various clinics within the Hebrew Rehabilitation System.
Reports issues in a timely manner to the RN supervisor of the LTCH Patient Clinic, or Administrative Director of the Department of Medicine or another colleague who performs sterilization.
Education and Certification:
Graduate of a certified Medical Assistant program or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
Graduate of a Sterile Processing Training Program preferred
Certification eligible as a Central Sterile Technician or as a Central Sterile Professional Department Technician preferred
