  • Overview

    The Director of Care Excellence drives quality and endorses change to ensure that the care delivered at Orchard Cove is resident-directed, aligned with what matters most to each person served at all stages of life and all points of care, and in compliance with Orchard Cove’s governing bodies.

     

    The Director serves as the Licensed Administrator of Orchard Cove’s 45 bed skilled nursing community, oversees the Enhanced Living community and, as a member of Orchard Cove’s senior leadership team, is responsible for quality, safety and emergency preparedness initiatives throughout the continuum of care.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Serves as the Licensed Administrator of the Skilled Nursing Community, working collaboratively with the Director of Nursing:
      • Ensures facility complies with all state and federal regulations and other accrediting agencies.
      • Ensures the facility has appropriate staffing services and equipment to meet residents’ needs
      • Ensures that the facility is maintained in a clean and safe manner for staff, members, and visitors.
      • Develops the operating budget and ensures revenue and expenses are within budget through the year.
      • Ensures positive customer satisfaction (staff, vendors, patients/residents).
      • Reviews resident/ grievances and helps develop appropriate responses and recommendations.
      • Participates in admission decisions as needed.
      • Participates in marketing initiatives.
      • Negotiates contracts with vendors as needed.
      • Coordinate efforts toward preparation for annual surveys, and follow-up, if necessary.
      • Ensures that all supportive services Lead the Way in quality performance.

     

    • Responsible for the operations of the Enhanced Living Community, working collaboratively with the Nurse Manager and other supportive services:
      • Ensures that services and care offered in the community support the best life of each resident.
      • Ensures positive customer satisfaction.

     

    • Active leadership role in promoting resident directed care at all levels of health care delivery, where care is aligned with values and preferences at all stages of life and points of care.
    • Ensures that Orchard Cove complies with CARF standards throughout the continuum of care, with a special focus on:
      • Chairs the OC Quality Improvement Committee and embraces the lean process.
      • Chairs the Safety Committee and ensures that staff is educated on emergency preparedness protocols
    • Serves at the Orchard Cove representative on the HSL Compliance Committee.
    • Promotes understanding and adherence to HSL Cultural Beliefs.
    • Other tasks as assigned by Supervisor.

    Qualifications

    • Must be a Massachusetts Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in good standing

     

    • Bachelor’s Degree (Masters preferred)
    • 3 - 5 years of leadership experience and 5-10 years overall experience in a health care organization
