    As the Program Specialist, you will plan, coordinate, and implement programs and events to enhance our Assisted Living and Independent Living communities and meet intellectual, social, spiritual and physical needs of the residents and members.  Act as a primary liaison between programming team and assisted living team.  Perform programmatic and administrative work to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the team in meeting residents’ needs.  Be a self-starter, have the ability to prioritize, perform multiple tasks, anticipate needs, demonstrate initiative, and be skilled in community building

    Advance the effort to create a meaningful, innovative, and vibrant best-in-class CCRC


    Scheduled hours: Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30am to 6:00pm.  One should be available evenings, and occasional Sundays and holidays.


    More specifically,

    • Select and plan all in-house programs for Assisted Living residents, including spiritual, multigenerational and volunteer-led programs
    • Plan social events and holiday celebrations that promote a sense of community and togetherness between residents, family members, and staff.
    • Research, plan and coordinate community outings and act as a chief liaison with transportation, resident care and dining services
    • Support resident led programming initiatives and family involvement
    • Develop, implement and lead programs
    • Contribute to the move in and welcoming process
    • Provide input and participate in care plan meetings; support and assist residents
    • in achieving their life and wellness goals; build strong relationship with family members
    • Complete assisted living monthly calendar of programs, outings and events
    • Promote upcoming programs and outings, and encourage residents participation
    • Coordinate in house social events with spiritual, housekeeping, catering and transportation departments
    • Build bridges across campus to support continuum of care success
    • Contribute to independent living community life through supporting programs and outings
    • Provide all necessary logistical support to ensure smooth operation of programs including:
      • Media set-up
      • Logistical coordination with contractors
      • Program introduction
      • Weekly room set-up requirements for housekeeping


    • Compassion for and desire to work with a senior population.
    • Bachelor’s degree and 4 to 5 years of professional work experience. Master’s degree is a plus.
    • Excellent organization and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to innovate, think strategically and conceptually, manage multiple projects simultaneously and handle difficult situations.
    • Must be a professional, proactive, collaborative, conscientious and results-oriented individual. Must have an optimistic and positive demeanor, excellent oral and written communication skills, good intuition and sound judgment.  Must be motivated to learn and flexible to change.
    • Computer literacy; experience with Windows, Word, Power Point, and Excel.
