Placed at the Harvard Medical School affiliate Marcus Institute for Aging Research at Hebrew SeniorLife, the Study Coordinator will support an eight-site hospital intervention trial across the US to improve care of older patients and their caregivers. Now in its second year, the multi-center, clinical trial (https://enhancetrial.org/) includes caregivers in the multicomponent, non-pharmacologic Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP, https://help.agscocare.org) and will be evaluated using state-of-the-art implementation science. HELP is an effective and evidence-based clinical program to prevent delirium and falls, shorten hospital stays, and decrease admissions to nursing home.
The Study Coordinator will support all aspects of this project including supporting all of the HELP sites on a day-by-day basis, creating implementation and research protocols, maintaining operations manuals and website, coordinating evaluation efforts, developing meeting agendas, and writing minutes. While the ENHANCE Trial will be the major responsibility, other and future coordinator responsibilities will be part of this position. We are looking for a person who is enthusiastic about supporting research with the goal to improve hospital care for older adults and their families. This is an ideal position for an individual who wants to work and learn in a cutting edge research environment. The Study Coordinator will work with the research team under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI, Dr. Sharon Inouye) and Project Director (Dr. Eva Schmitt). We look forward to welcoming a new member to our team soon.
The above covers the most significant responsibilities of the position. It does not, however, exclude other duties, which would be in conformity with the level of the position. Other responsibilities will be on request of the supervisor.
Preferred qualifications needed to successfully funtion in this role. This should be no more than 5 bullet points.
