Support the preparation of internal and external financial statements. Analyze revenues and expenses and resolve any issues or discrepancies. Prepare financial documents in conformance with generally accepted accounting principles, HIPAA and all other Federal and State laws and regulations and in compliance with internal control policies and procedures and other corporate compliance requirements.


• Reconcile escrow, operating, reserve and bond accounts
• Maintain Restricted Fund, Staff Appreciation and Scholarship accounts
• Track donations received and prepare acknowledgement letters for donors
• Perform reconciliations of bank accounts to the general ledger
• Prepare specialized monthly journal entries
• Maintain resident’s healthcare exclusion listing
• Analyze Skilled Nursing Facility PPS Rug rates and prepare appropriate general ledger entries
• Reconcile general ledger accounts as assigned
• Track investment income and expenses and long-term debt
• Assist with preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements, cash flow statements and ratios
• Prepare monthly statistical reports and develop new reports as needed
• Assist in preparing reports and account analyses in connection with the year-end audit
• Prepare worksheets and schedules needed for annual federal and state tax returns
• Prepare necessary schedules and information for annual cost report
• Maintain all capital asset records including depreciation schedules and prepare annual depreciation entries
• Prepare, submit and maintain construction requisitions and schedules
• Review systems and procedures within scope of responsibility, streamlining for simplification and to facilitate computerization
• Demonstrate proficiency in using pertinent software applications
• Maintain the general ledger system including data input and file maintenance, chart of accounts maintenance, financial statements layout, interfacing of accounts payable to general ledger and exporting and converting data from general ledger to other software applications for financial reporting
• Assist with the implementation and testing of financial software systems and be adaptable to learning new software systems
• Assist Director of Finance with budgeting, variance analysis, ad hoc reporting and special projects as assigned
• Assist other departments with accounting questions and issues and communicate effectively with non-accounting personnel


• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a fully accredited four year university or college
• Demonstrated theoretical and practical knowledge of accounting concepts, practices and procedures
• Demonstrated competence in pertinent computer applications and systems
• Six to seven years of related accounting experience
• Ability to communicate with accounting and non-accounting staff and with outside business related entities, as responsibilities require
