The Marcus Institute for Aging Research has an opening for a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the field of musculoskeletal epidemiology. The fellow will perform independent research to study the contribution of vascular dysfunction with aging to skeletal fragility. The position requires a PhD in epidemiology or related field such as biostatistics, musculoskeletal rehabilitation science, physical therapy, and gerontology.
The fellow would be responsible for assisting with study design, statistical analyses, presenting results, and preparing manuscripts for publication, as well as participating in post-doctoral training activities at the Marcus Institute and more broadly Harvard-wide. The fellow is expected to submit a grant application for an independent research project by the end of the training period.
The purpose of the project is to determine the contribution of vascular function declines with aging to skeletal fragility. The fellow will join an interdisciplinary team of investigators and work under the supervision of Harvard Medical School faculty at the Marcus Institute for Aging Research at Hebrew SeniorLife. The post-doctoral fellow will have the opportunity to work on large, cohort studies, such as the Framingham Study, and participate in all components of conducting epidemiological research. In addition, the fellow will have the opportunity to participate in career development activities, including project management, grant writing, communicating research findings, and building successful collaborations.
