Responsibilities

• Assists tenants in and out of vehicle and provides assistance with parcels where required.

• Assure that the maintenance schedule for vehicle is followed and checks vehicle to ensure it is in safe working order. Reports changes in vehicles functionality to supervisor. Upon request will coordinate and schedule with mechanics when work needs to be done on bus.

• Will maintain the bus cleanliness ensuring windows are clean, floor swept, etc. on an ongoing basis.

• Arrives in time to fuel van and clean interior so departure is not delayed.

• Arrives in a timely manner so that the day’s trip is organized with all necessary information (trip list, destination, map and other needed details) to ensure that the trip is smooth and organized and begins in a timely manner.

• Strictly follows monthly transportation schedule and prohibits non-scheduled drop-offs and pick-ups.

• Will keep daily statistics such as how many residents went on trip, how many had signed up. Will assist with confirming and cancelling reservations as needed.

• Reports to supervisor any concerns regarding a resident’s behavior, health, etc. or any difficult situations that occur during a trip.

• Encouraged to share ideas on bus trips that residents might enjoy for future bus schedules.

• Knowledgeable on how to handle an accident. Follows proper reporting procedures and provides assistance in all emergency situations.

• Is aware of individual tenant needs in ambulation.

• Follows all Commonwealth of Massachusetts laws.

• Other duties as requested.

Required Qualifications

• CDL license and excellent driving record required.
• Must possess a positive attitude and strong customer service skills.
• Ability to be patient and adapt to change easily.
• Ability to prioritize resident safety and ensure they are treated respectfully.
